Food at Greenwood Trails

At Greenwood Trails, food is at the heart of the camp experience. Campers sit together by cabin in our spacious dining hall to enjoy delicious meals and share special moments with friends and counselors. These communal meals are more than just a time to eat—they are opportunities to build bonds, create memories, and recharge for the exciting activities of the day ahead. From lively breakfast chatter to reflections on the day’s adventures at dinner, mealtimes foster a sense of connection and belonging that is core to our camp culture.

Our balanced menu provides nutritious and tasty meals to keep campers energized throughout their busy days. While it’s hard to compete with mom’s home cooking, our meals come in a close second! Each meal includes options to accommodate different preferences and dietary needs. In addition to the hot entree, lunch and dinner always feature a fully stocked salad bar, and breakfast includes fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels and cereal to start the day on a healthy note.

Greenwood Trails is a nut-free camp, ensuring a safe dining environment for all campers. Our kitchen staff is experienced in handling dietary restrictions, offering vegetarian options and accommodations for gluten or dairy allergies. We work with families to understand individual needs before camp begins, ensuring every camper can enjoy their meals worry-free.

Beyond the food, the dining hall is a place of tradition and fun. Meals often end with music, dancing, and standing on the benches singing favorite songs. Mealtime traditions such as songs, cheers, birthday celebrations and the occasional conga line create a lively atmosphere, making each meal feel special and fostering a true sense of community.

I’m most proud of playing tennis. I can play it better now because of camp. The counselors here made me better. I used to be terrible, now I know the rules and how to hit the ball. I’m more comfortable at basketball too. I’m better than I ever was before.
